As of August 8, 2024, South Korea imported 14,309 tons of fresh salmon, a 7% decrease compared to 

the 15,312 tons imported during the same period in the previous year. The import value also saw a decline, 

falling to USD 211,989 from USD 250,999 in 2023, marking a 16% drop.

The majority of the imports came from Norway, which accounted for 96.12% (13,754 tons) of the total. 

Chile contributed 375 tons (2.62%), and Canada supplied 90 tons (0.63%).

The import prices varied by country, with Norwegian salmon being the most expensive at USD 14.91 per kg. 

Chilean salmon was priced at USD 12.78 per kg, while Canadian salmon had the lowest price at USD 12.33 per kg.
