A total of 976,967 tons of seafood were imported by October 2022, of which 22,923 tons, or 2.35%, of frozen small octopuses were imported.

In the case of the previous year 2021, 23,418 tons were imported, accounting for 2.76% of 849,769 tons.

Frozen small octopus imports in October were 2,219 tons, down 25% from 2,976 tons the previous year, and cumulative imports were 22,923 tons, down 2.1% from 23,418 tons the previous year.

The average import volume of October from 2017 to 2022 was 2,756 tons, and the import of frozen small octopus by October was the highest at 24,273 tons in 2017 and the lowest at 20,934 tons in 2019.

There are 9 major importing countries of frozen small octopus this year, and 17,313 tons, or 75.5% of the total imports, were imported from Vietnam, followed by Thailand with 4,185 tons, Indonesia with 1,044 tons, China with 152 tons, and Malaysia with 115 tons.

The average import unit price by country was the highest at USD 7.64/Kg in Thailand, the lowest at USD 6.98/Kg in Vietnam, USD 6.25/Kg in Indonesia, and USD 4.91/Kg in China.

During October, the amount of imported frozen small octopus was USD 15.07 million, down 26% from the previous year's USD 20.48 million, and the cumulative import amount was USD 161.92 million, a 2% increase from the previous year's USD 158.66 million.

The average import unit price in October was USD 6.88/Kg, down 1.3% from USD 6.79/Kg in the previous year.
