By October 2022, a total of 976,967 tons of seafood were imported, of which 10,539 tons, or 1.08%, were imported.

In the case of 2021 of the previous year, 12,223 tons were imported, representing 1.44% of the 849,769 tons.

The average import volume for October from 2017 to 2022 was 1,477 tons, and the import of frozen cutlassfish in the past six years was the highest at 20,457 tons in 2017 and the lowest at 10,539 tons in 2022.

Imports of frozen cutlassfish in October were 1,381 tons, up 18% from 1,170 tons the previous year, and cumulative imports until October were 10,539 tons, a decrease of 14% from 12,223 tons the previous year.

The main importers of frozen cutlassfish are 24 countries, with 3,964 tons from Senegal, 1,912 tons from Morocco, 1,229 tons from Ecuador, 866 tons from Oman, and 652 tons from South Africa.

The average import unit price by country was the highest at USD 7.21/kg in Japan, followed by USD 2.65/kg in Senegal, USD 2.93/kg in Morocco, USD 1.80/kg in Ecuador, and USD 4.27/kg in Oman.

Imports of frozen cutlassfish in October were USD 2.4 million, down 56% from USD 5.48 million in the previous year.

The average import price in October was USD 1.74/kg, a 62% decline from USD 4.65/kg in the same period of the previous year.
